R65 1/4" Router
The Rutlands® R65 1/4" router has been developed for woodworkers looking for greater power, versatility and accuracy from a 1/4” router. With power surpassing its size, the router operates at 1200W, allowing it to work beyond light-duty trimming applications and tackle more ambitious medium-duty tasks, such as dovetailing, decorative moulding or hinge and lock faceplate recessing.
With a robust plunge base more akin to a 1/2” router, it offers up to 55mm of plunge cutting depth, free of friction or lateral play, with a high level of accuracy and control. Depth adjustment is quickly and precisely controlled using the stopper pole, clearly marked in easy to read metric graduations. A 3 turret depth stop allows for up to three different cut depths to be pre-set, ideal for making incremental passes.
The powerful 1200W motor runs at a variable speed range of between 12,000 - 30,000rpm, maintaining a constant rotational speed, even under demanding loads. Soft start technology ensures that the motor is brought up to speed gradually, supressing any shock on start-up. The ergonomically contoured soft grip handles ensure optimum control of the router and feature a handle-mounted power switch for ease of use. A safety lock mechanism prevents accidental start-up, whilst a locking button allows the motor to run continually, ideal for extended use.
The 145mm diameter base is CNC machined from a strong aluminium die casting, offering superior rigidity and strength whilst reducing overall weight to only 3.7kg. The base of the router accepts industry standard guide bushes to allow for working with dovetail, worktop, lock and hinge jigs. An anti-friction, non-marring plastic sub base ensures a smooth sliding movement over the workpiece. The R65 router is supplied with a 37mm diameter dust port, 1/4" collet, collet spanner, adjustable straight edge guide, trimmer guide, template guide and chip guard. ©
