Router Table Small Workpiece Holder
This router table small workpiece holder is essential for the safe, accurate routing of workpieces too small to safely feed by hand. Two oversized knurled handles ensure complete control of the workpiece, whilst keeping both hands at a safe distance from the router bit. Not only for use with bearing guided bits, the holder is supplied with a clear plastic fence guide, converting the holder into a coping sled for the routing of tenons, dadoes or other coping cuts.
The CNC machined aluminium jaws provide a 180mm clamping capacity, with space to accommodate sacrificial backing stock to eliminate tear-out at the end of the cut. The moveable jaw glides smoothly along two stainless steel rods, ensuring it stays parallel to the fixed jaw throughout. Adjustable hold downs either side of the jaws ensure that the stock stays squarely and firmly in place on the router table top, and will not lift whilst routing. The jaws measure 86mm deep and will accept stock up to 27mm in height.
Clamping pressure is easily applied through the large star knob, and the vice mechanism runs on a strong steel lead screw, for assured, non-slip workholding. The clear plastic fence guide doubles up as a protective bit guard, maintaining full visibility of the working area. When used as a coping sled, the position of the fence guide can be adjusted to provide a depth of cut of up to 43mm. ©
