S Shaped Tool Rest
This S shaped tool rest is the perfect support for small to medium size bowl turning, it gives enhanced control by allowing you to get the tool blade closer to the bowl when turning. The overhang between turning tool blade and tool rest is minimised to eliminate vibration and chatter which ultimately leads to a better finish. The S shaped contours allow you to reach the centre of bowls while providing adequate support.
The curved geometry and the smoothness of the steel gives minimal friction between tool and rest for an even finish on your workpiece. The tool rest has two different radii to use depending on the size of the bowl and is 300mm long. The tool rest can be purchased with either a 15.8mm or 25mm diameter stem that are compatible with the Rutlands® lathes. ©
