Spline Jig
The Rutlands® spline jig provides a safe, simple and repeatable method for adding splines to the mitre joints of boxes and frames. Adding both strength and decorative flair to the joint, router bits of various shapes and size can be selected to give a striking accent to projects.
Aluminium alloy construction throughout provides strength whilst keeping the jig lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. The two 280mm long fences sit at a perfect 90° angle for instant workpiece alignment, and will accommodate workpieces from 65mm to 210mm in width. The width and depth of the fences can be adjusted between two positions, setting the corner of the workpiece at either 2mm or 15mm above the work surface.
With the workpiece mounted, simply slide the toggle clamp in place and lock down securely. The rubber non-marring pad protects finished work surfaces, ensuring no unsightly marks. The side of jig is then guided along the router table fence, and the workpiece fed safely through the router bit. The adjustable end stop allows quick, repeatable setup and can be positioned on the other side of the workpiece, sandwiching it securely in place. Finish the cut with wood glue and a contrasting wooden spline and add strength and character to your next project. ©
